ADCOM this year launched the STACS RadioHub P25 Voter, Dispatch and DFSI Multiplexor/Demultiplexor.

The system provides fully digital voting, bridging and dispatch for DFSI base P25 radios designed to operate in high latency, adverse network environments including ISP, LTE and satellite backhaul. The system provides field proven support for OTAR and AES/256 end-to-end encryption; base station radios, gateways, voters and arbitrators are not keyed.  An easy to use system configuration tool automatically configures SD-WAN endpoints, radio gateways, RadioHub voters, arbitrators, gateways and recorders and for supported radios provides remote radio configuration from the same unified interface.

STACS® Architecture

Network Architecture

  • All endpoints, including Operations Center support any combination of INMARSAT BGAN, VSAT, Cellular and CAT 5 backhaul, deployed as appropriate

  • System supports redundant field systems with a single group of Operations Center Digital Interface Ports (failover between the two systems), or two sets of Digital Interface Ports (concurrent operation)

  • All network traffic is transferred using AES-256/GCM encryption with RSA-4096 PKI key transfer (RSA used only for over the air keying of all systems)

  • Optional cellular and INMARSAT terminals on Operations Center system maintain system operation in case of DDOS or internet infrastructure (DNS, etc) attack

Rapid Deployment

  • Field systems only require opening the case, connecting the radios and pressing the power switch to initiate cellular operation

  • Automatic selection of two cellular carriers (including Google Fi for international operation)

  • INMARSAT BGAN terminal require approximately 2 minutes for setup and connection, link between satellite terminal and case can be Cat 5 or wireless

  • Simple touch-screen interface for status and basic management

Power Options

  • AC operation, 90-260V 50/60 hz, international plug adapters included

  • DC operation, 10-36VDC with reverse and over-voltage protection to 150V

  • Dual internal batteries with fully redundant operation and built-in configurations available up to 48 hours of worst-case power consumption

  • System can be charged with case closed and can be stored with charger connected with external charge state / fault indicator

  • Batteries can be field-swapped while the system is operational

System Options

  • Field systems have 4 expansion slots, one of which is consumed by a four port Digital Radio Adapter

  • Any combination of sensor interfaces (Area-Rae CBRNE, Smith, etc), Digital and Analog Radio interfaces can be used in the three available slots supporting up to 16 radios

  • Three Cat 5 LAN ports are provided for Notebooks, VOIP phones, WiFi Access Points, etc.  Devices can be Internet connected or connected to Operations Center network via VPN

Maintenance & Management

  • All configuration and management operations can be performed on any of the remote systems or the Operations Center system via a Browser/Web Interface

  • All configuration operations can be performed even when a device is not powered on.  The device will automatically upload the updated configuration when connected

  • Each system proactively monitors battery charge and health, even when powered off.  Systems will automatically power up briefly to send a management alert when a battery fault is detected, or the battery charge dips below configurable thresholds (50 and 25% by default)

  • Systems can be stored with their cases sealed and an external charger connected indefinitely.

  • Systems will maintain 80% of available charge when stored between 50 and 90 degrees F for three months without external charger connected
